Where is G & S located?

G & S Guide Service is located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Rhinelander is in the northeast section of the state, definitely in the heart of the Northwoods. Looking at the map, there's almost more blue than green. In Oneida county alone, there's 426 named lakes (and 701 un-named lakes), that's not to mention the rivers and streams. Oneida county has the second highest number of lakes in the state. To add to that total, we also fish in Vilas and Lincoln counties, making the total over 2,000 lakes to choose from. WHEW! I get tired just thinking about trying all of those lakes....

It's a great place to visit, there are numerous hotels, motels, resorts and bed & breakfasts in the Rhinelander area. Finding accommodations is never a problem, whatever your traveling budget is, contact us and we'll do our best to refer you to someplace that suits your needs. If you want to make this into a family vacation, there are things for the non-fishing members of your group. There are (in the area) craft fairs, nature watching, bike trails, shopping, sightseeing and if you schedule right, you can catch the Hodag Country Fest (one of the largest outdoor country music festivals in the country). There's also casino gambling, just a short drive from Rhinelander. Or if you prefer, you can just soak in the sights and sounds of the beautiful area we call home.

We are approximately 5 hours north of Chicago, or 4 hours east of Minneapolis. So you see, you don't have to travel great distances for great fishing.
