The Equipment We Use...
We only use top notch equipment. Believe me, when you pound the water as much as we do, we find out in a hurry what works and what doesn't. It may not be flashy and fancy but it gets the job done and that's what we look for.
For boats, we do use a variety of boats. Gil and I are running Cobra Bassboats by Viper Boat Company. I'm running the flagship Cobra, the Coosa 216, 21 feet, 6 inches of pure fishing machine. My rig is powered by a Mercury 250XB racing outboard. My motto when it comes to boats is "Getting there should be half the fun!"
Gil runs a Cobra 1800, a fine "little" bassboat powered by a Yamaha 150. I haven't had a chance to get a picture of his boat yet. We've been just plain too busy but keep checking back, I'll get it one of these days.
We all have different ideas on what is the perfect fishing boat but one thing is certain, when you book a trip with G & S, you'll be in some of the finest boats available for the types of fishing we do and the waters we fish on. We promise you a clean, comfortable and safe boat, equipped with quality PinPoint or MinnKota trolling motors, good electronics and large, aerated livewells (we do believe in catch and release but occasionally, a fish fry beckons).
Rods and reels we have, more than enough to stock a sporting goods store. Anyone that fishes with me will be using custom built "Steve Huber Signature Series" rods. We supply the tackle appropriate for the type of fishing that you're doing for the day. It's all well maintained, with fresh line and steel leaders, if you're going for those "toothy critters". Lures and/or the first round of live bait are provided in the price of the trip. Believe me, there will be plenty of everything when we go out!!
